Ron Whisler
STATISTICAL ANALYST |
Ron Whisler, statistical analyst for The Modellers, has been working in the market and marketing research industry since 2005. Ron has been involved in a wide and diverse variety of analytical work, including advanced statistical models, econometric models, direct marketing analysis, demographic segmentation, and database manipulation.
Prior to joining The Modellers in 2007, Ron was an analyst for Geoscape International, a direct marketing and geo-demographic research company specializing in consumer database analytics and multicultural research. Ron was a teaching assistant during graduate school and he has held summer internships at Nationwide Insurance and the U.S. Census Bureau during his college years.
Ron’s educational background is rooted in a rigorous curriculum of mathematics and statistics accompanied by quantitative social science research as a graduate student. He holds a BS degree in Actuarial Science from The Ohio State University and an MA degree in Geography (with an emphasis in Statistical Geographic Demography) from the University of Arizona. As a graduate student at the University of Arizona, Ron worked on analyzing the decisions of inter-urban migrants in the United States. In March 2008, an article from his thesis entitled “Quality of Life and the Migration of the College Educated: A Life-Course Approach” appeared in the academic referred journal Growth and Change.
In his free time, Ron enjoys traveling North America, playing ice and roller hockey, painting colorful pastel pictures, posing as an amateur paparazzo at the Sundance Film Festival, collecting license plates, keeping tabs on his favorite sports teams, and getting prepared for his next new adventure.
